2 government agencies of the USA have received from courts seizure orders for 82 web resources which sell products with infringement of copyright law.

Among the products are movies, handbags and music. Courts from 8 states allowed shutting down these services. The sites include DVDscollection.com, Torrent-finder.com, Sunglasses-mall.com, and NFLjerseysupply.com, and many others.

Reports of numerous website closures repeated in the last several days, but officials from 2 agencies spoke about it at a press conference on Monday. In this way a great quantity of counterfeit items will not be sold during the coming shopping season. Therefore people also should be more attentive as they look for the goods. Deals which promise good discounts can be doubtful and consumers risk acquiring counterfeit items.  When it seems to you that the purchase is too good to be real, then you should look with more attention at it.

Copyright infringement is a serious crime in the USA and is punished by imprisonment up to five years if you break the law for the first time and the fine $250,000. But trafficking of counterfeit goods is punished more severely: 10 years of federal prison and the amount of the fine makes $2,000,000.
