As per the expecApple hosts iPhone 5 affair on Oct 4tations, Apple plans to host the iPhone affair on Oct 4 at the company’s California head office.

Some selected reporters received a company mail stating that the occasion is scheduled to commence at 10am PST and will start with an Executive PPT. Even though there was no specific reference to the iPhone5, several people speculate that Apple will release one or two iPhones at this affair.

The launch of the next version of the Apple iPhone has been discussed over the last many months. During the past, the company released the latest smart phones during the Worldwide Developers Conference held in June each year. The latest iPhone was amiss at the 2011 conference, which increased the rumors surrounding its potential launch in September or October of this year.

In the week gone by, the All Things Digital reports mentioned that several company sources said that the company would host an event on Oct 4. According to sources, the event would be led by Tim Cook, who is the company’s new CEO. Moreover, the sources mentioned that the latest iPhone would be available within a few weeks, which makes late October the potential period when commercial sales would commence.

Nonetheless, no one is sure about what would be displayed at the scheduled event. Several rumors mention that the company would provide the latest iPhone that would provide small modifications to the previous version. Alternatively, some reports state the new iPhone will provide 4G connection, edge to edge displaying capabilities, and many larger features.

Another query doing the rounds is the number of iPhones that shall be displayed during the event. Most people believe only one iPhone will be displayed during the affair. However, Mark Moskowitz, who is an analyst at J P Morgan, expects the company to release two new smart phones in 2011. A similar belief is shared by the former American Vice President Al Gore, who also is a board member of the company. Mr. Gore hinted that the company was working towards completing two new versions of the iPhone.

In addition, Gore mentioned about new iPhones releasing in the following month during his talk at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit held in South Africa.

In addition to the iPhone, the company is expected to talk about the iOS5 and the cloud service known as iCloud. These were releases during the beginning of the year at the WWDC.
Another important aspect of the affair is Tim Cook along with the iOS5 and the new smart phones. Although, Mr. Cook is well experienced with company events, this will be his first event as the CEO. All Things Digital reported that Tim Cook would follow the example of Steve Jobs while he served as the CEO. Jobs was known to make an appearance at the start and discuss about big releases and left the other important details for the executives to discuss.
