IPad 2 Review

When it has not even been four months since the arrival of the iPad 2 in the markets, rumours are spreading fast about the arrival of iPad 3/HD at the Apple stores this season! The main reason for such rumours is that the tech newspapers mostly will be dry when it comes to summer. Most of the people including the journalists, the tech industry and public alike would be thinking of holiday trips and vacations, that none has the time to spend on newer inventions.  Due to this, there would be slight pressure on the news companies, to collect news that can be of interest to the public. So as to fill this vacuum in news, exciting rumours are spread, which creates movement among the public. The Apple is always one of the dominant names in such stories and the story of the iPad3/high definition can be considered as the next in queue.

The latest rumour is coming from the site thisismynext.com, via the former Engadget editor Joshua Topolsky. The iPad 3 or iPad HD as Joshua calls it,is supposed to have a 2048 x 1536 screen. It seemsthat this is not a rumour and this screen resolution is mentioned in the iOS desk as a part of the news regarding the newly arrived Twitter and the .framework of the Newsstand. Back in June, the rumour about the phone was dismissed as it held some questions which couldn’t be clearly answered. One main question was that the iPad 2 had been released just months before, and why would the Apple release the next version so soon. Moreover, the rumour held that iPad 3 would be using the iOS, which was controversial to the fact that the high resolution retina display (RD) could be used across the whole OS. So then why restrict the usage of the best resolution RD to just someaspects in the iOS? The confusing questions remained .Anyway the supply chain contacts say that there is no iPad 3 coming up now. People have been doing this rumour part, collecting evidence from the iOS SDK before also. There were a lot such rumours and speculations before the release of the iPad 2 also!

Speaking from the practical side, the retina display in the size of the iPad is expected to have lot of complicated hardware and software in it. And moreover, the cost it would come for wouldn’t be able to justify the advantages or benefits it gives the user. Though such retina panels may look cool, but it wouldn’t match with HD movies which need up scaling. Yet, in his latest rumour, Topolsky repackages this high definition retina display device and says that the iPad 3 is aimed at the higher end of the market and is sure to hit the best.
