Generic Linux beLinux in Enterprisesgan to be popularly used in enterprises at the expense of the versions Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) Enterprise Linux and the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES). From June 2010, these versions became of less demand to people.

Though the OS slipped from 38 to 34 on the top 500 list this year, the SLES is still used in the enterprises. And though it is in the second position, it has been the leading Linux distribution on the top 500 list. But the RHEL, which had 9 systems in 2010, came down to 6 in the latest list of supercomputers and their operating systems.

Their community cousins Fedora and OpenSUSE also are included in the top 500 list. The whole Linux family makes up a total of 82.6% in the list.

The Cent OS is another competitor in this list, which has been growing up rapidly in the market. The latest list ultimately points to changes in the market of Linux OS, which is now held up just by the cloud computing capability. Even the RHEL clone, which had 7 supercomputers in the list, has slipped to 6 in this years list.
