Drupal 7 is going to be released at last. 3 years have passed already from its last release. The last version will be available from the fifth of January.
When this famous and well liked content management system was developed, the developers concentrated on such factors as easiness and practicability of the software platform. User interface should be simple and have trouble-free possibility of new modules installation.
More than a thousand developers contributed to Drulal 7. The creator of the project Dries Buytauert said that big enhancements have been made since 2008.
The decision has been made that Drupal 7 is going to be released on the 5th of January in case serious bugs are not discovered.
The previous version had a range of updates after its release in February of 2008, but big changes were planned on the release of the next version.
The last version was tested during the past year and more than 28 thousand tests in automatic mode were made. The leader of the project says that there are thousands of web resources who use this CMS version already. The beta version has been in use since October.
It is worthwhile mentioning that this open source project started in 2001 by software programmer Dries Buytauert. Drupal was created from the word “druppel” that means “drop” or “droplet”.
