7-inch first Android tablet HTC Flyer will be released in spring

HTC's is going t7-inch first Android tablet HTC Flyer will be released in springo release its first tablet the Flyer. The gadget seems to have much in common with the Desire HD.

According to a rumor HTC must launch its tablet on the first month of spring.

The picture of low resolution appeared on the web resource of Norway named Amobil. Some specs for the Android tablet  were described in the site as well. The device is going to be a starter among the range of other tablets from HTC in 2011, in addition to a 10-inch LTE device.

 

The Flyer tablet will apparently feature a 7‘’ touchscreen (1024 x 600), and that means that it will have the same resolution the Samsung Galaxy Tab has. Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 will be its processor, and the HTC Desire HD smartphone features the same processor. Its look also resembles the Desire HD, and this one more association reminding us about the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The matter is that the Samsung Galaxy Tab also maintains the inner parts and look of the Samsung Galaxy phones.

The HTC Flyer is going to work on Android platform. It will be either Android 2.3 or Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), thus becoming the first tablet that runs Android OS. It will have HSPA, DLNA, will sport HDMI port enabling HD streaming. As far as the camera is concerned, a rear camera of 5-megapixel and an LED flash is present in the device together with a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. As this is not a phone it will not have a call feature, though optimized Skype will enable the user to do it via mobile or Wi-Fi.

Finally, the Flyer tablet will operate HTC Sense UI for prettier look. This interface is present on all HTC Android phones.
Manufacturers want to make Android-based tablets popular to be an alternative for consumers against the Apple iPad. Now iPad is a leading device in the tablet segment at the market.  HTC Android tablet has a promising potential. Apple succeeded to sell a striking 14 million iPads in 2010 and Samsung Galaxy Tab is the only competitor to iPad at present. Samsung Galaxy Tab managed to sell over a million units after it was released in October.
