Google Editions, whicgoogle_bookh now are called Google eBooks, represents one more opportunity for Google to march in step with its two biggest competitors, Amazon.com Inc. and Apple Inc., and to create a new direction of advertising outside of online.

Consumers will have an opportunity to make purchasing of books on books.google.com/ebooks. As well they will be able to read books on many different devices, for example, smartphones, open format e-readers, tablets and computers. On Monday Google released an e-book which can buy and read apps for Apple's iPad, iTouch and iPhone in addition to Android mobile devices.

Users will have their own bookshelf for the Google-purchased books on-line and store them there. They will have access to these bookshelves through the personal Google account.

The price politics is the same like for the other e-books vendors. The new release is from "agency pricing model", where publishers give information about the prices, which are in general lower that 20$. eBooks of Google will make its own cost for the books which are sold by publishers according to the traditional model of wholesale.

A book-search site of Google Books, which is linked to the Google’s major Web search engine, was launched in 2004. It contains previews or full copies of numerous of books and information about where consumers can purchase them, including even Amazon.com. Besides selling books directly on the on-line store, Google allows others to sell its eBooks on their on-line stores and get a part of the profits.

It is predicted that many of the American Booksellers Association members would use Google eBooks for selling digital titles to the clients. As well the visitors of bloggers will be directed to Google's digital titles and then these bloggers will have commission with the help of affiliate program. It is unknown how much they’ll receive, but the rates promise to be rather competitive.

It is possible that retailers will start exploring the opportunity to sell a package which includes a physical book and a digital edition. They consider that such packages are able to decrease the e-book prices.
