When Google launched Google+1 he made a move to social network direction. Though this utility has a social character, it is surely not the Google’s attempt to create a service that will be a business rival of Facebook. Actually this is just a button letting users show which websites are useful in their opinion.
You can compare it with Bing’s “like” option for pages, used currently, which is, by the way, integrated with Facebook. Users will see “+1″ button in the same location and it will have the similar function: to connect people with similar interests. The ultimate goal is to direct the search results to more social direction, letting users to see results and people who +1′d among people like you.
In what way can Google find out which users actually are “like you”? Primarily, with examination of similar interests. In case you +1ed  9 sites and some other user +1ed the same 9 sites, you will probably like the choice number 10 of that user. But Google says that more integrated social structure will be evolved, where Twitter connections and other websites will be employed to assist you to find proper pages. In case Google ever launch a full-blown social service, it’ll be surely integrated too.
When +1, is used with the new feature to block sites, the service gives a touch of human curation to the results provided by search engines. It can be helpful when solving spam problems that are currently topical, though exactly it will have general impact on SERP placement.
At present, the +1 button can be found on the experimental search site as it is passing the initial testing. When it is finished, it will appear on the main site. Other +1 services, comprising buttons for webmasters that they can add to their site (which let +1ing), are going to be released in the future.
