The release of Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 made by Alfresco, is going on to make steps in the ECM platform like a product with Social Content Management direction.

Alfresco dreams of having its Enterprise Content Management System on an open source platform. The current release contributes a bit to the process and hopefully it will be realized at full some day. Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 has some functional features that will let developers to create apps where the content is so to say social-adapted.

There are some new essential characteristics, which were introduced in Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 though many features contained in this version are similar to what have been present already in the previous version of the product, but still there are some capabilities not known so far that are worth mentioning.

1) Easy workflow basing on folder actions or jBPM use on the advanced level  
2) The duplication of distributed content from key location, in which web content management and document management remain in one repository

3) Alfresco Web Quick Start feature presents a range of the best templates for making websites on top of Alfresco Share.
4) Renewed user interface with an objective of document management enhancement making it social and collaborative. The example of it is a status update.
